Who we are:

We are a group of women- internally displaced people (IDPs) who come together to establish a women’s non-governmental organisation in Kutaisi, Western Georgia in October, 1997. Our group was created after the Georgian population had to flee Abkhazia as a result of the armed conflict in 1992-1993.

Our organisational mission:

Development of women’s activity through educational, legal, economic, social, cultural activities to increase women’s role in building a democratic society in Georgia, in the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Abkhazia, and achieving economic independence

Voter’s Advice Application – with conference participants

On May 14, another final conference was held online with participation of representatives of local self-government.

The project participants shared the experience gained in the process of implementing the “Voter’s Advice Application” and talked about the introduction and use of a similar platform during future elections.

The guests were actively involved in the discussion and expressed their opinions regarding the importance of the application in terms of informing the population and increasing political trust, as well as the need for its introduction during the elections of local self-government and prospects for the future. They also stressed the importance of cooperating with local media.

Final conference of the project

The innovative and interesting project “Online Vote-O-Meter for 2020 Georgian Parliamentary Elections” has come to an end. On March 25, a final conference was held online with participation of about 60 people.

The project participants shared the experience gained in the process of implementing the “Voter’s Advice Application” application and talked about the introduction and use of similar platform during future elections.

The guests were actively involved in the discussion and expressed their opinions regarding the importance of the application in terms of informing the population and increasing political trust, as well as the need for its introduction during the elections of local self-government and prospects for the future.

International seminar: summarization of the work and future prospects

What has been done, what results have we achieved, how have we overcome the challenges, what are the prospects for future work? These questions were answered at a international seminar held on the Zoom Platform on February 17. The seminar was attended by people involved in the project "Online Vote-O-Meter for 2020 Georgian Parliamentary Elections". These were the representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" and experts from the Visegrad countries: Klara Cozlova (Czech Republic), Katarzyna Zielińska (Poland) and Peter Guran (Slovakia).

These were several hours of active work: sharing experiences, talking about lessons learned, and developing strategies for future activities.

Tskaltubo - information meetings with citizens

Informational meetings with citizens are underway, the next visit was in Tskaltubo Municipality.

Journalists got acquainted with the online vote-o-meter

One meeting was specially prepared for journalists. Representatives of various Georgian media outlets met in the Zoom online platform. They got acquainted with the online vote-o-meter with great interest, watched the video, asked the details, terms of use and received the necessary answers. At the end of the meeting, they noted that they would not only fill in the questionnaire themselves, but would acquaint colleagues and friends with this innovation ...
