Who we are:

We are a group of women- internally displaced people (IDPs) who come together to establish a women’s non-governmental organisation in Kutaisi, Western Georgia in October, 1997. Our group was created after the Georgian population had to flee Abkhazia as a result of the armed conflict in 1992-1993.

Our organisational mission:

Development of women’s activity through educational, legal, economic, social, cultural activities to increase women’s role in building a democratic society in Georgia, in the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Abkhazia, and achieving economic independence

The theme of a radio program - Path towards gender mainstreaming

On 20th of March radio "Rioni" prepared and broadcasted a radio program on the theme “The path of Georgia towards creating a favourable ground for gender equality and gender mainstreaming in local government".

During 37 minutes the guest of the program, the chairperson of Fund “Sukhumi” Alla Gamakharia and a journalist provided radio listeners with wealth of information on topical issues: the path of Georgia, the role of civil society and NGOs, existing barriers and things to be done in the future.

The program was broadcasted within the framework of the project "Learning from Visegrad 4 experience to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance”.
